The Mercy

As people, we rate degrees of evil. Jesus doesn't. The reason he wants us to sin no more is so that we might have access to complete freedom. Bad choices, choices against the way he made us create pain and he wants us free from pain and free to experience and give love like he does.

I went through a time a little while back, as I was turning my life over to Jesus for the second time in my life. I felt that a certain sin I had committed was beyond his forgiveness. At an Easter service at church, he showed me that there is no sin too big for his forgiveness and complete mercy. It was a huge relief, and I am reminded all the time that there is nothing he can't do to awaken the hardest heart and most confused mind to his big love!!!

Jesus - the Maker & the Husband

My husband and I are reading through the books of John & Acts this month. I have a bad habit of going to books that talk about Jesus and the Bible instead of to the Bible itself. The Bible is the living, breathing and powerful Word of God and I sense my resistance to be a work of self-pride & enemy distraction.

I was mulling over John 1 and it just made me so sad for our Lord that although everything that exists is made through Him, yet when He came, and even in all the revelation we have of Him now, so many do not realize who He is. He made us, yet we don't recognize Him.

So many times, my relationship with Him seems strained. I always attribute it to false teaching that I am still trying to remove from my mind and my OCD personality that tries to be perfectionistic in my following of Jesus. Something really helped me that some friends of ours shared with me. It has been a breakthrough for me. They told me to think of my relationship with Jesus to be like a marriage. This struck a chord with me. Thankful, oh so thankful, for a precious relationship with my husband. This is turn has helped me understand how my Lord sees me and how I should see Him. It is a complete baring of myself and a confidant trust that He loves me, understand & is there to help..

The Truth will Set You Free ~ Jesus

As I'm thinking on this day of celebrating our country's freedom, I am ever cognizant of the lack of freedom my mind has. "The truth will set you free!", Jesus says. Yet so often, I feel like I am to function as a machine..always on, never having ups and downs in emotion or action, not allowing myself to be human. The only way I know to handle this, is to ignore the guilt. "The truth will set me free"..that means that ignoring is not what will alleviate my guilt, but only being immersed in living and active Word of God..

The verse I am on right now:
Titus 2:4,5
"Then they can urge the younger women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God."

The Flesh & Blood Savior from Hebrews 2

From Hebrews 2: 10-13It makes good sense that the God who got everything started and keeps everything going now completes the work by making the Salvation Pioneer perfect through suffering as he leads all these people to glory. Since the One who saves and those who are saved have a common origin, Jesus doesn't hesitate to treat them as family, saying,
I'll tell my good friends, my brothers and sisters, all I know
      about you;
I'll join them in worship and praise to you.
Again, he puts himself in the same family circle when he says,
Even I live by placing my trust in God.
And yet again,
I'm here with the children God gave me.
14-15Since the children are made of flesh and blood, it's logical that the Savior took on flesh and blood in order to rescue them by his death. By embracing death, taking it into himself, he destroyed the Devil's hold on death and freed all who cower through life, scared to death of death.
16-18It's obvious, of course, that he didn't go to all this trouble for angels. It was for people like us, children of Abraham. That's why he had to enter into every detail of human life. Then, when he came before God as high priest to get rid of the people's sins, he would have already experienced it all himself—all the pain, all the testing—and would be able to help where help was needed.

Jesus..everything I am, everything I have is because He became Man while staying God. I am actually kind of afraid and can't relate to the other Person's in the Trinity: the Father, primarily because I am still recovering from the bi-polar version of Him I learned at the old church and the Holy Spirit, mainly because all of the things people say happen because of Him have never happened to me. But the primary reason I adore the Savior is because He has a face, He has a body and He has felt every single thing I have felt in the same type way, yet of course without sin. I adore Him because He left all the glory just so that one day I could taste the glory with Him! I also love how verse 13 above says, He joins in worship to God with us and even He lives by trusting God! He been there, He knows..

Please don't misunderstand, this is just where I am right now. I do hope one day to be able to understand and relate to the Father and Holy Spirit as well.
