What Happens When Women Pray by Evelyn Christenson #1

PLANNING vs PRAYING

Planning is overrated

A "jump & run" mindset, an open availability COVERED with prayer

Precursor-ed in prayer

At least ALWAYS pray before planning

 *******************************
Deal in the SUPERNATURAL not in plans, programs and social action

********************************

Jesus listens when:

1) we have confessed and repented of all known sin

ME: gossip, cussing, pride, envy/bitterness, ingratitude, anger/hate ~ if I have faith, hope, love, shelter, food, water and the luxury of books, paper & pen and iced tea with lemon & sweetener, I am over blessed!!!

2) we have forgiven everyone who has hurt us

*********************************
 "TWEET" prayers:

simple, short, specific

***********************************

Pray God's Will ~ remember the ultimate example of this: Jesus in the garden asking that the cup of His crucifixion be taken from Him, but asking not "My will, but Thine be done."

ME: This requirement actually scared me when I read it as I was afraid that something bad would happen to me if I asked for God's will...my pastor's wife said, "God's will is what we would choose for ourselves if we had the big picture. God is saying, "Do you trust me??"

And, God's will isn't some tedious drudgery that we are so often taught...it is pleasurable & exciting when we are caught up in our connection with Him...God loves to give good gifts to us!!!
